During the Covid pandemic, we expanded youth programs with the support of two State of Vermont Educational Grants .
In 2020, a School Day Learning Hub Grant to quickly design and implement a new program to support students during remote learning days. In cooperation with the Vermont AOE, DCF and King Street Youth Center.
In 2021, an Educational Impacts Grant allowed us to expanded Summer Programs, serve more kids and aid in learning loss recovery, cultivate literacy, build social connections and provide outdoor, arts-integrated fun. In cooperation with Vermont AOE and Afterschool Vermont.
Wingspan’s Summer Youth Programs carefully balance choice time with guided activities, artistic process with final product.
The goal is to intentionally make space for children to develop critical thinking skills while nurturing confidence and creativity.
