From Drawing to Painting! Advanced Beginner-Intermediate

Open Studio:Saturdays, Jan 10 & 24, 9 am–noon
Cost:$425 (includes seven classes, two optional open studio sessions, painting/drawing starter materials, easels, smocks)
Max:8 students

Perfect for those with some drawing, painting, sculpture experience ready to expand their creativity and painting/drawing skills! Each 2.5-hour class includes:

Structured exercises(30 min) in color, value, form, composition, line, and shape
Artist/art history discussion(30 min) exploring diverse media and references for inspiration
Studio painting time(1.5 hrs) to apply new skills, receive one-on-one input and support at the easel

Work across multiple media—pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, acrylic, watercolor—to discover what resonates. Complete three paintings with step-by-step instruction: a still-life, a piece from your own source material, and an abstract work. Build strong color mixing skills, learn the full painting process, and cultivate your creative voice.

Join artist Maggie Standley in her inspiring Burlington South End studio! Just bring a sketchbook—all other materials provided.

Please note, the Open Studio Saturdays are optional, though a great opportunity to practice with support and use as make-ups! Warm up your brain, soul and palette this winter in Wingspan's cozy and inspiring studio.
